There has been so much hype about the Maybelline 24Hour Full Coverage Foundation that I had to give in and try it out for myself. I watched several reviews on this foundation but one review in particular tipped me over the edge and in that moment I was at the Boots counter buying my shade.

The Details:

Maybelline, as we are all very well aware, are a huge beauty brand with big claims and the Superstay Foundation is no exception. Claiming to have full coverage for up to 24 HOURS, has high pigment and creates a flawless finish to battle the clock 24 hours a day.

The Benefits:

Taken straight from the Maybelline website :

"Be your own professional makeup artist with Maybelline's full coverage 24H foundation. Saturated color pigments provide an ultra-transforming effect in this long-lasting foundation. The lightweight, yet high-impact coverage formula glides onto the skin for a flawless makeup finish that lasts all day. Oil free. Doesn't clog pores. Dermatologist tested."

The Results:

Being the skeptic that I am, especially when it comes to foundations (I have a love/hate relationship with foundations) I purchased the shade 10 Ivory and tentatively applied it to my face. My very first impression was "wow okay....the coverage is there..." which is really is! I'd definitely say this foundation is medium to full coverage and I'd say it is very buildable. Another thing I noticed was the smell of the product wasn't particularly pleasant...not to say it smelled bad but it just had a very "lab" type smell. However, I quickly found this scent to disappear as quickly as it appeared.

Once it was fully applied I was honestly in amazement at how flawless my face looked. My blemishes, pigmentation and dark circles we're about 90% covered, the coverage is seriously remarkable. As many of you would know if you watch my YouTube videos (which you can find my latest video HERE) I usually always colour correct before I apply any foundation but I wanted to see how the product worked without the help of concealing my redness and dark circles and boy, did it perform!

After applying my usually products I decided to also trial the Maybelline FIT Me! Concealer in the shade 10 Light as my NARS Creamy Concealer is on it's last legs. Using this concealer instead of my NARS definitely had some big boots to fill but I was pleasantly surprised with it. The coverage is very good and the formula is very creamy and effortless to blend and even though the concealer and foundation are from two different lines they work lovely together and blend seamlessly.

I decided to trial run these two products on a Saturday when we took our little Lola for a walk around the lake in the cold and wind and also out for dinner to TGIF to really see how it fairs in unpleasant weather conditions and warm restaurants. I had the makeup on for up to 13 hours and I can honestly say it held up superbly well. The only thing was I noticed a little shine coming through on my t-zone but I have a very oily t-zone at the moment - my skin has gone from bone dry to oil slick and I'm not happy but it battled it very well. The colour match wasn't perfect, but that was my own mistake as I rushed to buy the foundation and didn't stop to ask for a skin match however the colour difference isn't too drastic and can be perfected with a little bronzer and contour.

The Conclusion:

If  you're looking for a good, medium to full coverage foundation for under £10 then I would highly recommend the Maybelline 24Hour Superstay Foundation. It's up there with my Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation which has very similar coverage and finish but for far far cheaper.
If you have tried this foundation let me know your thoughts and if not definitely go to the counter and ask about it or try grab a sample because I honestly believe you won't be disappointed.

Until next time,
