Birchbox August 2018 x Etsy

14 Aug 2018

Happy Tuesday and it's another Birchbox review! This month Birchbox teamed up with Etsy and embraced the moments that make life happy. Not one, not two, but TEN incredible Etsy sellers created a collection of beautiful box designs with each one representing their individual passions and creativity, specially designed to surprise us Birchbox Babes. The lovely Holly Maguire was the designer of my box this month and it is one of the cutest designs I think I've ever layed my eyes on - as described on her Instagram 'PJ Girl and Cat' is the name and being adorably talented is the game. If you love this design as much as I do remember to check our Holly's Instagram and Etsy page listed below:

Without further adieu lets jump straight into what I received in this months Birchbox...

As per every box we are able to choose a product of our choice from two and for August we had the choice of choosing between two shades of eyeshadow crayon - Gold Plated or Fetch. I went with the shade Gold Plated as I'm an absolute sucker for anything brozey and golden. The crayon is creamy and allows you to use just your fingertips to blend effortlessly. All you need to do is scribble away on your eyelids and blend as desired it can be used as a base for eyeshadow or a standalone wash of colour OR as a highlighter!

Described as a 'melting lip powder' it's truly innovative transformable formula shifts from pigmented powder to a long-wearing tint on application. Using it as you would a lipgloss the fomula meshes with your lips for a smudge-proof, matte pop of colour (which we all love a smudge-proof sister amirite?) and it doubles up as a cheek tint too!

This Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask is a product that literally does all the hard work for me overnight, and we love a product that works hard whilst we rest up, right? All you need is a pea-sized amount onto clean skin before bed and let it absorb whilst you catch some z's. There are antioxidants that will help rejuvenate tired skin so you wake up with a glowy, hydrated complexion. I have been using this for the past 3 nights now and it really does have a beautiful effect on my skin when I wake up. I feel like my skin has had a wild night on H20 and is look ready to take on the day.

'Purity' is a 3-in-1 cleanser (another multi tasking genius) another easy-breezy product that will keep things quick and simple. The 'beloved' formula removes make up, cleanses, tones and lightly hydrates skin in one step. All you need to do is massage a coin-sized amount onto damp skin, rinse away and voila! You skin is clean, fresh and thankful. One thing I will say about this product is, although it claims to be gentle on eyes I found that it was stinging them ever so slightly - now I'm not sure if that's just my clumsy ass getting product in my eyeballs or whether the formula might be just a little too strong for my sensitive skin - either way, don't get it in your eyes!

I was so, so happy to see another Rituals shower gel in this months Birchbox as I fell absolutely head over heels in love with the last shower gel product that came in the December box. This time round we have the 'Happy Budha Foaming Show Gel' which is infused with sweet orange and cedar to rejuvenate skin and brighten the miiiiiiind. I love how the formula starts as a thick gel then quickly, with a splash of water, transforms into a soft lather. I'm so excited to try this one, however I am trying to use up my current shower gel before opening this one as I have a habit of opening up too many shower gels and then never finishing any...

That is everything in this months Birchbox and I'm so pleased, considering last months box was a bit of a flop for me the August box has well and truly reignited my love and faith in Birchbox. Let me know in the comments what box design you might of received? Which products are you most intrigued by?
